  MapR-DB is an enterprise-grade, high-performance, NoSQL database management system. You can use it for real-time, operational analytics capabilities.
- MapR-ES
  MapR-ES brings integrated publish and subscribe messaging to the MapR Converged Data Platform.
  - Architecture
    MapR-ES streams contain topics which have logical collections of messages.
  - Producers
    Producers are data-generating applications, such as sensors in automobiles or activity loggers in servers. Producers create messages with the collected data and publishes the messages to MapR-ES topics, specifically, to MapR-ES topic-partitions.
  - Consumers
    Consumers are applications that you create such as analytics applications, reporting tools, or enterprise dashboards.
  - Stream Replication
    You can replicate streams to other MapR clusters worldwide or to other streams within a MapR cluster.
  - Stream Security
    Topics in a stream are protected from unauthorized access by the adminperm, copyperm, comsumeperm, produceperm, and topicperm security permissions. In addition, user impersonation is also supported.

Why MapR-ES?

MapR-ES is built into the MapR platform. It requires no additional process to manage, leverages the same architecture as the rest of the platform, and requires minimal additional management.
