5.1 Installation
This section provides information for installing with or without (manual) the MapRInstaller, installing patches, upgrading, and migrating.

  The MapR Installer makes the installation of a MapR cluster easy. It installs MapR software after it takes you through the process of selecting services and configuring the cluster.

  MapR patches are version-specific and cumulative. Each patch contains the code fixes that were included in the previous patch for that MapR version.

Next Step

Each prospective node in the cluster must be checked against the requirements presented here. Failure to ensure that each node is suitable for use generally leads to hard-to-resolve problems with installing Hadoop.

After each node has been shown to meet the requirements and has been prepared, you are ready to install MapR components.
