New in This Release

This release of Sqoop2 for MapR includes the following new features or behavior changes:

SSL Encryption: You can configure SSL to enable encrypted communications between the Sqoop2 server and its clients.
Repository Encryption: You can configure the Sqoop2 repository to encrypt password data.
Connectors: The following connectors are supported: ftp-connector, kite-connector, and sftp-connector.; The hdfs-connector supports the parquet data format.
Location of the sqoop.properties file: The sqoop.properties file is now in the following directory: /opt/mapr/sqoop/sqoop-<version>/conf/. In Sqoop 1.99.6, the sqoop.properties file was in the following directory: /opt/mapr/sqoop/sqoop-<version>/server/conf/.

Known Issues and Limitations

Integration between Sqoop 1.99.7 and Oracle database is not supported.
The Kafka connector is not supported.
The Kite connector cannot be used to connect to Hive on secure clusters.
